Ata Doğruel (b. 1991) is a performance artist based in Istanbul. His work explores isolation, endurance, and the limits of the human mind through long durational performances that test both physical and mental resilience.
Originally studying law at Koç University in istanbul, he shifted his path to media and visual arts, where he found a deeper space for expression. His performances—ranging from 48 hours to 40 days—blur the line between art and life, turning time itself into a medium.
Doğruel’s works have been exhibited in venues such as Pera Museum, Zilberman Gallery, and Odunpazarı Modern Museum, and he has participated in international events, including the Venice International Performance Art Week and Mamut Art Project.
Through his practice, he continues to question the boundaries of the self and the individual’s place in society, using performance as both a personal and collective investigation into meaning.
On this website, you can find documentation of all past and upcoming performances by Ata Doğruel. He is currently conducting a series of 40-day performances, and more short performances to come.
